William Johnson

William “Bill” Johnson passed away on April 8, 2023, at home in the care of his wife, Beverly. He was born on July 3, 1937. He is survived by his wife and his daughters, Jodi (Gray) Gogolin, Laurel (Scott) Barber, Jennifer (Brian) Weiss, and his son Bill (Wendy) Johnson. Along with his grandchildren, Robbie (Erin) Gogolin, Abby (Keegan Valaika) Gogolin, Madeline (Jim) Perry, Elena Wilson, Noah (Erin Couwenhoven) and William Weiss and Riley and Ty Johnson; great-grandchildren, John and Max Gogolin. Bill is also survived by his siblings, Carol (Gene) Berghorst, Dave Johnson, and brother-in-law, Dick Perkins.

Bill, a lifelong resident of Holland, took pleasure in spending time and playing games with his family. He took considerable pride in his grandchildren and was always interested in their activities. He enjoyed following the stock market and current events. He spent his free time maintaining a beautiful yard. In years past he took fishing trips with his family to Canada. During the last few months of his life, he was in the care of Hospice of Holland in his home.

A funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, April 17, at 11:00am, at Christ Memorial Church, 595 Graafschap Road, Holland. Pastor Mike Westerveld will preside over the funeral service. A luncheon and time of visitation will follow the funeral ceremony at the church.

Bill will be sadly missed by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland, 270 Hoover Blvd, Holland, Michigan 49423.
