William Thorne Charlton, Age 91, passed away on Monday, January 20th, 2025 at Wings of Hope Hospice. He was born July 4, 1933 in Royal Oak, Michigan.

While serving in the Marine Corps with Fox Company, he was in Korea, part of the frozen chosen, a POW for 30 days and earned a Purple Heart. He worked as a stuntman, a maintenance supervisor and commercially painted when he retired. Bill was an avid fisherman, a bowler and built and flew large scale model airplanes.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold, sisters Jane & Doris and survived by his sister Sue.

This loving Husband, Father, Grandfather is survived and loved dearly by his wife, Julie, his daughters Deanna & Curt Gogolin, Danielle & Chad Wynsma, his grandchildren Alex & Adel Emperor, Brooke & Alex Langerak, Grace Wynsma & finance’ Hunter Kershaw, Abby Wynsma, Ireland Wynsma, Charlotte Wynsma & London Wynsma.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday (January 25) at the Third Reformed Church, 111 West 13th Street. A reception and a time of visiting will follow the service.
