William "Bill" Stoddard, age 75, of Laketown, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 7, 2017. He was born in Hartford, Michigan on August 23, 1942 to Clinton and Myrtle Stoddard. He graduated from Hartford High School in 1960 and enlisted in the United States Navy. Bill served as a Electronics Technician for 4 years. Bill met the love of his life, Nancy (Speet) in 1968 while driving his 69 Corvette down 8th street, Downtown Holland. They were married for 48 wonderful years. The world revolved around his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman who enjoyed his yearly trips to Florida. After faithfully serving his country he attended and graduated from Western Michigan University in 1968 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. His education launched him into a 20 year career at General Electric. Mr. Stoddard ended his career in Grand Rapids running two smaller companies, Kirkhof Goodrich and T.G. Systems.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton (Myrtle) Stoddard; in-laws, John (Blondie) Speet; son, Jeffrey Stoddard; brother in-laws, Tom Speet, Wayne Speet, Ed Downer; niece, Melissa Speet. Mr. Stoddard is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Stoddard; son, Jerry (Christin); daughter in-law; Heather Stoddard; Daughter, Jennifer (John) Forsythe; grandchildren, Donovan and Gabrielle Stoddard, Adam, Nathan, and Lily Forsythe, Corey Yetzke; siblings, Judy Downer, Rick (Jan) Stoddard; in-laws, John Speet, Randy (cindy) Speet, Mary Speet, Jean (Ken) DeWitt, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Friday November 10, from 5 to 8pm at The Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 32nd Street, Holland. A funeral service will be held 11am Saturday November 11, at Gibson Church, 6486, 140th ave, Holland. Pastor Brent Pollema will officiate the ceremony. The family was served by the Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel.
