Wayne Nyboer, age 90, of Holland died Wednesday, June 22, 2022.
Wayne was an elementary school principal with the West Ottawa Schools for many years. He was always involved in church activities at both Rose Park Reformed and Central Park Reformed Churches. He enjoyed antiques, had a passion for studying history and spent many years giving presentations and dressing up as George Washington for area school children. Wayne served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, infant son Steven, son Larry, and his companion in later years Shirley Overway.
He is survived by his children: Pam (Dale) Senogles of Holland and Sheri (Rodney) Van Loo of Holland; grandchildren: Kirsten, Sarah, Heather, Lucas, Alec, Trevor, and Cecilia; great grandson: Bryce; brother-in-law: Al (Carla) Ver Schure of Holland; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Dykstra Funeral Homes-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street in Holland. Rev. Leigh Van Kempen will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 am prior to the service at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
