On Sunday August 15, 2021, Valerie M. Mireles, beloved daughter of Hector and Patricia Mireles, devoted mother to Mya Gonzalez, Gavin Batema and Talia Batema, passed away at the age of 36.

Loving sister of Victoria (Victor) Perez, Vanessa Mireles, Veronica Mireles and Vianca Mireles.

Fond aunt of Carmine Vongsouthi, Isaiah Rodriguez, Ashton Jachim, Jaxon Jachim, Dominic Perez, Giovanni Perez and Elijah Perez.

Dear niece to Lydia Mireles, Adrian (Alexandra Kolamneo) Mirelez, Alfredo (Paula) Mireles Jr., Lauro (Sheri) Medina Jr., Luis Medina, Sylvia Grover and Samuel Medina.

Cherished granddaughter of Lauro (Guadalupe) Medina and also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

Valerie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alfredo Mireles, Manuela Mireles; uncle, Tomas Mirelez.

Ms. Mireles was born in Holland, Michigan on June 26, 1985. She attended Zeeland Public Schools and was currently employed as a licensed insurance agent and living in the greater Grand Rapids area. Valerie was a long time member of Cornerstone Tabernacle and she loved the Lord. She had a pure heart, a humble spirit, a heart for people and she was always making herself available to help anyone in need. Valerie also took excellent care of her (late) grandma Manuela Mireles and her (late) uncle Tomas Mirelez. Valerie was known for her easy smile, distinct laugh and great sense of humor. Some of her hobbies included photography, writing poetry, drawing and being creative in general. Ms. Mireles was the first grandchild on both sides of her family and also gave both sides of the family their first great-grandchild. She was loved by all who knew her and will truly be missed.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday August 19, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland, Michigan. A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday August 20, at 1:00pm, at the Mulder Chapel with Pastor Douglas Wright presiding. A funeral procession to honor Valerie's life and legacy will make its way from the Mulder Chapel to North Holland Cemetery for a 2:30pm graveside ceremony.
