Tom Peck was born April 6, 1948 in St. John’s Hospital in St. Johns, MI. Toms family moved to Saugatuck in 1951 and he was a lifelong resident. Tom reminisced often of growing up in the small fishing village, where he could make a little cash sometimes helping smoke fish in smokehouses that were built right on the dock downtown Saugatuck. Tom enlisted in the army, and was proud of his service to his country. His unit was airborne, and he was a paratrooper. Tom had a colorful career working in marine construction building docks and seawalls on the Great Lakes, driving semi-trucks, and later working as a supervisor and manager for area companies. In his free time, he enjoyed wood working, riding motorcycles, target shooting, and spending time with his family.

In his own words, Tom departed for his next big adventure January 25, 2020.

He is survived by his sons; Rick Peck, Ben (Kim) Peck; four grandchildren; sister, Sally Decker and many nieces and nephews.

A private family ceremony will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Rifle Association.
