Theodore Charles Heger age 85 of Holland formerly of Huntington, West Virginia died Sunday, October 14,2018 at Freedom Inn in Holland.

Born in Virginia, Minnesota on July 2,1933 to Theodore Ernest Heger and Dorothy Johnson Heger, Theodore was a graduate of Curtis Institute, Philadelphia, PA., received his B.A. and M.F.A. from University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA., was a member of the United States Marine Band, Washington, D.C. (President’s Own) Thirty year music faculty member of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp where he served on the Board of Trustees since 1995.

Theodore was a principal oboist in Huntington Symphony Orchestra as well as a member of the American Legion Band of Holland since 1995.

In 1961 Theodore married Avis Evely Heger and they had two children; Elise Heger and Erich Heger. He is also survived by three grandchildren and nieces and a nephew.

They were former members of Beverly Hills Methodist Church in Huntington, West Virginia.

A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa in a gravesite owned by four generations of Avis Evely’s family.
