Thelma Joan Hopkins, age 76 died Monday, June 6, 2016 at her home following an extended illness.
Born in Zeeland, Thelma graduated from Holland Christian High School
In 1959 she met Russell Hopkins and they married a year later.
She was employed by Holland Public Schools as a teacher's aid at Jefferson School.
Thelma was an active member of First Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School and was a long time choir member.
Thelma enjoyed camping, traveling, photography, her weekly bible study, time with family and friends, and was a member of "Common Thread" quilting group.
She is survived by her husband, Russell; her children, Laurie (Gerrit) Dykgraaf of Holland, David Hopkins of Gunnison, CO; her grandchildren, Blake Staat and Anna Staat as well as cousins.
A memorial service will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, June 18, 2016 at First Reformed Church, 630 State St with Dr. Daniel Gillett officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery.
Friends may greet the family at a reception following the service.
Memorial gifts in Thelma's name may be given to Hospice of Holland.
