Steven Walters

Steven Keith Walters, of Holland was born September 13, 1952 (age 59) and went to his promised home in heaven on January 21, 2012. With his children by his bedside Steve was transferred from his wife’s embrace to our Father’s loving hands. (He was at home in Hospice care). He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Martha (DenUyl) Walters, brothers, Maurice Walters, Jr., Ernest Walters and a sister Shirley Slenk.

Steve worked as a self-employed tile-setter and mason and was currently retired. He and his wife Karen resided in Fort Myers, FL during the winter months and in Holland, MI in the summer.

He is survived by his wife Karen and children: Stacy and Matt Daniels of Holland, Dennis Walters of Holland; daughter-in-law: Angela Veldhuis; grandchildren: Kasie and A.J. Broe, Justin, Nate and Caitlin Walters, Carrie-Amanda, Joshua, Kayleigh and Jacob Daniels; sister: Joyce (Schaap) Sneller of Holland; sisters and brother-in-law: Vicki Lynch of Holland, LuAnn Money of Holland, Kari and Ron Craton of Fennville, Jim and Linda VanDeWege of Holland; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank all the doctors and nurses at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, doctors and nurses at Holland Hospital, his family doctor and Hospice of Holland. And especially Dr. Peshka and Pastor Andres Fierro.

A memorial service will be 1:00 PM, Friday, January 27, 2012 at Fourth Reformed Church 238 West 15th Street in Holland.

Reverend Andres Fierro and Rev. Dr. Jonathan Brownson will be officiating.

Cremation has taken place.
