Steven T. Snider

Steven Todd Snider, age 56 of Holland, passed away June 21, 2022 from a tragic accident.

Steve was born in Jackson, Michigan and was raised in a rural town in Southern Jackson County. Growing up he excelled in academics, as well as football and track, while helping on the family farm. After high school came 2 years at Jackson Community College, and then on to Western Michigan University. Experience in computer programming landed Steve a job with WMU in the engineering school and he eventually obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering Graphics & Design.

Steve’s career in design, engineering, and program management spanned over 30 years across multiple companies. Originally starting at American Seating in Grand Rapids and then subsequently onto Tenneco Automotive, Johnson Controls, NetShape, and finally JR Automation in Holland. Over time, he worked his way into managerial, director, and VP level positions.

Steve had a passion for boating with his family on beautiful Lake Michigan, golfing, taking long motorcycle trips, and was a competitive marksman. He knew how to fix anything at any time and was always known to give advice and help to those in need. Truly a gift to his family and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Earl “Jay” Snider, and leaves behind his daughter and beacon of light Elizabeth Snider, his mother Linda Snider, best friend and brother Darin (Theresa) Snider, two loving nephews Gavin and Blake Snider, his former wife Anne Snider, and lots of extended family. Also, his JR Automation “work family” and countless friends.

A celebration of life open house will take place on Sunday July 31, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, at Warehouse 6, 136 E 6th Street, Holland, Michigan.
