Steven Hoffman

Steven Jay Hoffman of Alexandria, Virginia passed away after a short illness on October 3, 2022

Steven Jay Hoffman came into this world on May 13, 1958, in New York City, New York. Shortly after his birth, Steve was adopted into the loving family of James and Eleanor Hoffman. At the age of six, the family moved from New Jersey to Holland.

Steven went through the Holland Public School System graduating in 1976. While in the school system, Steven participated in the school band, football teams and swim team.

Upon graduation from Holland High School during the bicentennial year of 1976, Steve went to Alma College. Steve majored in Public Relations at Alma, graduating in the winter of 1980.

Leaving college after graduation, Steve moved to the Washington, DC area. Steve achieved his goal and was able to start his career with Federal government, first with the Small Business Administration and eventually the Department of Commerce and finally with the General Services Administration.

Steven is survived by his Uncle and Aunt, Thomas and Lois Van Dahm of Kenosha, WI, and several cousins. In addition, he is survived by his long time partner, Rose Moran and a large number of people in Virginia, Michigan and around the country who thought of Steven as a close and generous friend.

Steven maintained a great love for his hometown and the many friends who remain in Michigan. There will be a memorial at Dykstra Funeral Home-Downtown Chapel, 29 East Ninth Street, Holland, MI at 1:30 PM, Friday, December 30, 2022. Reverend Kent Fry will be officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap cemetery.
