Stanley L. Cimbal, age 70, of Holland died Monday, December 28, 2015 at Zeeland Community Hospital.

Stanley was a charter member of Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church. He was an elementary physical education teacher for the West Ottawa Public Schools, where he retired after 33 years of service. He was an Associate Member of the FOP Lodge Number 104, a member of the American Legion Post No. 0006 and a member of the Elks Club No. 1315. He was involved in harness horse racing as an owner, trainer and driver for over 30 years. He enjoyed bowling, golf and horseshoes. Stanley was an avid Michigan State fan. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Eugenia Cimbal and a father-in-law Elton Scott.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda and children: Lukas Cimbal of Holland, MI; Andrea and Mark Johnson of Galloway, OH; sister: Elizabeth (Libby) and George Brown of Jackson, MI; mother-in-law: Eleanor Scott of Waconia, MN; sisters-in-law: Peggy and Steve Jolly of Lansing, NY; Heather and Kindal Barnes of Minnetrista, MN; nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church, 480 North 152nd Avenue in Holland. Father Charles Hall will be officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or a charity of one’s choice.
