Shirley Jane Jacobs, age 90, of Holland passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2022 joyfully entering into her eternal home to be forever in the presence of her Heavenly Father.

Shirley was a very strong Christian woman, she was kind, thoughtful, caring and had a beautiful heart. Shirley loved people and was very social. She enjoyed dominoes, bus trips and was still playing cards just days before she passed away.

Shirley was President of the VFW auxiliary and American Legion, and a member of the Moose Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a waitress at Jackie’s Place Restaurant in Holland well into her late seventies.

For the last seven years she lived at The Village at Appledorn with the Independent Living Community. Shirley had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities and had a pleasant personality that was contagious to everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin, grandson Sam Fink, her parents Dana and Agnes (Albertson) Savage and brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children: Kay (Jack) Bonzelaar of Holland, Bonnie (Dennis) Kole of Holland, Leroy (Linda) Fink Jr. of Grand Rapids and Jane (Harvey) Ferrel of Allegan; grandchildren: Ron (Amy) Kole, Brenda Kole, Ryan (Sohaila) Kole, Kelsey Mulvihill, Mallorey Mulvihill, Brodric Mulvihill; great grandchildren: Dewey, Sawyer and Tiffany; brothers: Paul (Dorothy) Peters of Wapwallopen, PA and Franklin (Cathy) Peters of Wapwallopen, PA; many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be 12:00 pm, Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Parkside Bible Church, 14461 James Street in Holland. Pastor’s Gary Spykerman and Joe Johnson will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
