Life Story / Obituary

Sandra Lee Kuipers, a woman of strong faith, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on January 8, 2026, on the anniversary of the death of her beloved grandson, Timothy Lawrence.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, the Rev. Dale L. Kuipers. Together for 27 years, they served with Baptist International Missions, faithfully sharing God’s redeeming grace with many throughout northern Canada.

Following Dale’s passing, Sandra, affectionately known as Sandy, continued her lifelong passion for mentoring and sharing God’s love. She faithfully served women in the Holland community through Gateway Mission, Lakeshore Pregnancy Center, Apples of Gold, and Widows Ministries. In her later years, she found great joy in tending her garden and watching the birds that visited it.

Sandra was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is lovingly remembered by her children:

Lisa (Randy) Rapp, Jami (Leon) Lawrence, Shane (Sherri) Kuipers, Sheldon (Pat) Kuipers, and Valerie (Darrin) VanderArk.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Laurinda (Jesse) Adamski, Brandon (Darci) Rapp; Amanda Martinez, Justin Lawrence, Valerie Joy Lawrence; Austin Kuipers, Rachael (Landon) Lamie; Rebecca (Barry) Bostwick, Wesley Kuipers, Wyatt Kuipers; Makayla Read, and Dalton (Madie) VanderArk; along with 14 great-grandchildren.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Dale L. Kuipers; grandchildren Timothy Lawrence, Jared Rapp, Nathan Kuipers, Christopher Kuipers, and Sarah Kuipers; her mother, Bea VanBeek; her father, William VanBeek; and her brother, Bill VanBeek.

She is survived by her brother, Ron (Ann) VanBeek, and many brothers and sisters in law along with many nieces and nephews

Sandra’s life was a testimony of faith, service, and love, and her legacy will continue through the many lives she touched for Christ.

An evening visitation will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 4pm to 7pm, at Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 W. 32nd St., Holland, MI.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 W. 32nd St., Holland, MI. The visitation with family begins at 10am, followed by a funeral service at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to be made in Sandra's memory to the Lakeshore Pregnancy Center or Gateway Mission
