Rosalyn "Ros" Shelton, age 56, of Holland, passed away August 11, 2019.

Ros was born on July 5, 1963 in Chicago IL. to Robert Brooks and Yvonne Whiteside. She moved to the Holland community in 1992.

Ros was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer with a poor prognosis. She fought a long battle for 5 years, showing her admiration for life. She was a loving mother to her sons but also a mother to many others. Rosalyn was a hard worker in every aspect of her life. She had a contagious smile that could change the mood in any room. She loved to play spades, listen to music, and cook for her family.

Ms. Shelton was a loving mother to Henry McCall IV (Meg), Kevin Shelton, and Robert Shelton, dearest sister to Tony Gerrins (Stephanie), Kevin Brooks, Doris Brooks-Lewis (Mark), beloved daughter to Robert L. Brooks (Kathy), cherished grandmother to baby Miyana Yveatte Shelton (Robert) and Henry Franklin McCall V, caring aunt to 22 nieces & Nephews and 10 great nieces & nephews. Ros is also survived by 9 brothers and sisters in-law.

Rosalyn was preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne Whiteside; brother, Kelsey Brooks.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gershenhorn, the American Cancer Treatment Center of America and the Cancer & Hematology Center in Ottawa County.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Monday, August 19, at Maple Avenue Ministries, 427 Maple Avenue, Holland, MI. Reverend Matthew Warfield officiating. Interment in Pilgrim Home Cemetery, Holland.
