Roland W. Wolters, age 81, of Port Sheldon Township died Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at his home.

Roland was born in Holland, MI to Benjamin and Kathryn (Vander Heide) Wolters on April 8, 1941.

Rollie retired from Holland Hitch and served on the Port Sheldon Fire Department for 38 years. He also volunteered as a first responder. Rollie enjoyed playing Santa at the Port Sheldon Part Store helping collect toys for charity. He also enjoyed making bird houses, fishing and spending time at their cottage on Hamlin Lake.

Rollie is survived by his wife of over sixty years, Sandra (Van Slooten) and children: Shannon Stoel of Fountain, MI and Steve (Arlene) Wolters of Holland, MI; grandchildren: Jess (Jake) Tenney, Samantha (Steven) Savich, Tyrel (Stephanie) Stoel, Benjamin (Tasia) Wolters and Kristen (Troy) Kaley; great grandchildren: Tanner and Lillian Savich, Ariella and Enoch Wolters; sister: Bonnie Ver Hoven of Holland, MI; sister-in-laws: Diane (George) Cook and Brenda Van Slooten; niece and nephews.

Rollie was preceded in death by his beloved German Shepherd, Baron.

A special thanks to Hospice of Holland for the excellent care, especially nurse Jessica.

Cremation will take place and no services are planned. Arrangements are by Dykstra Funeral Homes-Northwood Chapel.
