Robert P. Borgman age 90 of Holland died Thursday August 27, 2015 at Holland Community Hospital.

Born in Holland, Bob graduated from Holland High School class of 1942. Following school he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served during WW ll. Along with his brothers, they co-owned Model Laundry and Dry Cleaners until 1978 when they sold to West Michigan Uniforms. He continued working there until his retirement.

Bob was a lifetime member of Grace Episcopal Church and was affiliated with VFW Post 2144, American Legion Willard G. Leenhouts Post #6, and Holland Elks Lodge 1315. His role as chairman of the bingo program at the Elks Lodge, was the position that gave him the nick name “Bingo Bob”.

His love for sports was his favorite past time. He supported all the Michigan college teams, and Holland High School sports, as well as Hope College Basketball. Bob was also loyal to Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers baseball.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eva Borgman and brothers, Joseph Jr. and Lewis Borgman.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Donna Klomparens Borgman and children; Barb and Kirk Beerthuis of Tequesta, FL., Steve and Terri Borgman of Holland, Tom and Holly Borgman of Scottsdale, AZ., grandchildren; Mark and Kelly Borgman, Alissa Beerthuis, Kelsey Beerthuis and Stehanie Borgman as well as a sister Marjorie Hass of Owossi, MI. and sisters-in-law; Bonna Weller, Arvilla Boere, both of Holland , Arletta Klomparens of IL. and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sat., 11:00 AM, September 5 at Grace Episcopal Church, 555 Michigan Ave. with Rev. Jennifer Adams officiating. Military honors will take place following the service at the church. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Friends may call on the family Friday, 5-7 at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 188 West 32nd St., Holland.
