Peter Van Kampen

Peter J. Van Kampen, age 91, of Holland, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Heritage Health Care in Zeeland.

Pete was born in Holland, was a lifelong resident, and farmed his entire life. He also retired from Parke-Davis where he worked as a Mill Operator. Pete was a charter member of Grace Reformed Church and a member of the Reformed Heritage Community Church

He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Van Kampen and a son-in-law, Ross Schurman.

Peter is survived by his wife Alma of 70 years; children, Mary Lou and Roscoe De Vries of Holland, Sherry and Rick Vander Kolk of Holland, and Mark and Sherry Van Kampen of Lansing; daughter-in-law, Nancy Van Kampen of Zeeland; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sister, Alma and Ray Tubergan of Zeeland and Wilma Johnson of Hamilton; sister-in-law, June Van Kampen of Holland; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday at the Dykstra Funeral Homes-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Ave., with the Rev. Charles Byrd officiating.

Burial will be in North Holland Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Wednesday at the chapel.
