Pedro Castorena was born on June 26, 1958 and entered his rest on Jan 1, 2020. He was born in Holland, MI where he attended Washington Elementary school, EE Fell and Holland High School. Pedro joined the Army National Guard in July of 1976 and received his honorary discharge in 1985.

Pedro served as one of the Chaplin’s for the Holland Police Department and spent approximately 20 years in the ministry impacting many lives. His adventurous spirit led him to live in some awesome places, Holland, MI, Tulsa, OK, California and Alaska. He is preceded in death by his dear father Alfonso Castorena and beloved brother Roy Castorena. He is survived by his mother, Rosa Castorena, brother, Juan Alfonso Castorena, sisters, Rosemary and Lydia Castorena and baby brother, Juan Castorena, his 5 children, Pedro II, Fabian, Josue, Jacob, Pablo and Brandon Bowers, as well as 22 grandkids.

Pedro’s joyful spirit, along with his raspy voice and laugh, made it impossible to mistake him for someone else. He was generous, helpful, and kind. Pedro always was looking out for people in need, never hesitating to take people into his home or to lend a helping hand. He always had a funny story to tell about his childhood or teenage years and well into his adulthood. He never stopped being young at heart and was a wonderful family man who loved to spend time with his grandkids. Pedro loved to play the guitar and harmonica and music was a big influence in his life. He was always known as a “jokester” and loved scare pranks. He loved to ride his motorcycle and enjoyed the wind the wind in hair.
