Nancy J. (Whitman) Boylan 83, of Saugatuck, MI, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, George M., and Mary E. Beard, her brothers Patrick, Thomas, and George L. Beard, her niece Cathleen, her brother in law Mark Kuhner, and her first husband, Dr. Jack D. Whitman.

Surviving her are her second husband George Thomas Boylan, her sister in law Helen Mikolojewski, her sister in law Lois Beard, and sister in law Mary Kuhner, her children Mark (Lori) Whitman, Michael (Dianne) Whitman, and Melissa J. (Thomas) Keller, T. Jeffrey (Kathy) Boylan, J. Bradford (Sue-anne) Boylan, fourteen grand children, three great grand children, many nieces and nephews, all very much loved by Nancy.

Nancy loved and was a long time member, of the Community Church of Douglas, where she was involved with the church's building, decorating, and mission committees. She always looked forward to her women’s bible study and book club groups. Her pastors and church community were very supportive and comforting in her life.

Nancy enjoyed the theater and arts, her gardens, the Saugatuck Chamber Music and Film Festivals, the shops and restaurants of Saugatuck and Douglas, and her many friends in those communities. She traveled extensively, visiting Europe, Asia, and South America, the Galapagos Islands being one of her favorite places visited. In her healthier days, she loved golf, tennis, any type of social engagement, spending time with her family and a very long list of lifelong friends. She was a warm, loving, caring spirit, and was much loved. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to thank the amazing staffs of Appledorn Living Community, Tender Care of Holland, and Hospice of Holland, who all did such a wonderful job of caring for Nancy.

A memorial service and celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Saturday May 25, at 1:00 P.M. at Community Church of Douglas. The street (GPS) address to the church is 6874 Wiley Rd. Fennville, MI 49408.

A reception will follow at the church. Nancy would love for her friends and family to dress colorfully and comfortably!
