Mildred Jean Maatman

“Millie” was a person who tried every day to be a good and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and Christian to all. After running the Windmill Service Station in Virginia Park together for a few years, they adopted and raised four children, Sherry, Christine, Dennis and Joe.

Millie loved to sing, performing in choirs, trios and solo. Traveling, bike riding with friends, quilting and playing cards were some of her favorite past times. Millie loved life, her family and friends especially Barb and Ken Strengholt. Later in life, Millie loved spending time with her grandchildren, taking them to movies, playing Rummikub, cards, and taking them on trips.

Millie, was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Evelyn Cook, her step-mother Vivian Cook, her husband Clarence “Sonny” Maatman, her daughter Christine and son Dennis.
