Merline (Moe) King, 82, of Holland, Michigan, passed away on Thursday March 14th, 2024 in Holland, Michigan.

Moe was born in Marktree, Arkansas to Madge & Lee Whitaker on March 8, 1942. Merline earned her GED and worked primarily in Manufacturing as well as culinary jobs and customer service. She enjoyed a plethora of activities, most of which involved family. Merline very much enjoyed dancing, gardening, birds, dogs, swimming, cards, and bowling. It was virtually impossible to beat her at the latter two.

Merline loved unconditionally with no strings attached. She was able to see the best in everyone without judgement or malice. She loved her family and friends and wanted nothing more than their happiness. If you were fortunate enough to be loved by Merline, you knew she was someone you could rely on.

Merline is survived by her son, William Pate of Texas, daughter, Denise (Bill) Padoll of Pennsylvania; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Merline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ken King; brother, Elmo Whitaker; sister, Wanda Fuller; children, Lori Pate-Reeves & Ronnie Pate.

A memorial visitation will be held at Dykstra Funeral Home (Mulder) on Monday March 18th from 4pm to 7pm.

Merline had love and compassion for all animals. Memorial donations may be made to SPCA in lieu of flowers.
