Life Story / Obituary
Mary Schaf, age 56, of Borculo, passed away peacefully with family at her side, Saturday May 26, 2018. She was born in Holland, Michigan, on September 15, 1961 and attended West Ottawa Schools. Mary was a proud LPN and worked in the nursing field for most of her life. She received her nursing education at Grand Rapids Community College. Mrs. Schaf met her husband Dave on the beach at the Holland State Park and they were married for 35 years. She loved her animals, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Schaf was preceded in death by her mother, Delphine Sanger; brother, Thomas Sanger. She is survived by her husband, Dave; father, Stephen Sanger; brothers and sisters, Steve (Saby); Kathy (Tom) Bradford; Michael (Kristine); Elizabeth (Scott) Essenburg; John (Molly); daughter, Amy Beth (Chris) Schrock; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, June 3, with wake prayers beginning at 7pm, at the Dykstra Funeral Home – Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue, Holland. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, June 4, at 11:00 am, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 480 152nd Avenue, Holland. Father Mike Cilibraise will celebrate the funeral mass.
