Mary Ellen (Walters) Olgers, 76, of Holland, died on Friday, November 8, 2019.

She was born in Holland to James and Jeanette (Alferink) Walters. She graduated from Holland High School in 1961 and attended Grand Valley State University. She had been employed at Margaret's boutique and the Windmill Island gift shop in Holland.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Earl of Holland; her son, Greg (Kathy) Olgers of Holland; much-loved grandchildren, David and Amy, both of Holland; brother, Ronald (Cynthia) Walters of Ludington; sisters, Janice (Jack) Pagel of Sturgis and Linda (Stanley) Sal of Zeeland; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Melvin) Dokter of Homer Glen, Illinois, Carol (Carl) Dulmes of Oostburg, Wisconsin, and Sheila (James) Jones of Felch, Michigan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Rev. Lambert and Isla Mae (Potter) Olgers; and sisters- and brothers-in-law, Shirley (Olgers) Heerema Zeilenga, Gerald Heerema, Thomas Zeilenga, Beatrice (Olgers) Nyenhuis and Duane Nyenhuis.

A memorial visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, at Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 W. 32nd St. in Holland. No memorial service is planned. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery.

The family is especially grateful to the staff of David's House in Resthaven's Good Shepherd Home for their loving and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Resthaven Care Center or the Harbor Humane Society.
