Mary Hunt

Mary Louise (Simpson) Hunt, age 80, of Holland passed away Sunday, September 12, 2023, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Community in Zeeland.

Mary was born November 3, 1942, to Carl Sr. and Mattie (Stigall) Simpson.

She graduated from Coopersville High School and worked at Sligh Furniture but spent most of her time caring for the home.

Mary enjoyed her flower garden, and she spent countless hours babysitting and loving children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her best friend, Kenneth Sabin, who she was with for 43 years; brothers: Carl Simpson Jr. of Holland and Eulis (Diana) Simpson of Holland; sister: Elizabeth Pitchford of Grand Rapids; sister-in-law: Ora Lee Simpson; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mary’s body will be donated to the University of Michigan. Arrangements are by Dykstra Funeral Homes-Downtown Chapel.
