Life Story / Obituary

Mary Ellen Lunderberg, 83, passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2016 living as the healthiest, most active, octogenarian at the Warm Friend in Holland, Michigan. Mary Ellen was a devoted wife, loving mother, and dear friend to us all. She was one of the most caring, benevolent, and merciful individuals. She lived life large and made the most of every minute. Mary Ellen touched many people in life as nurse and founder of the infant program at the Ottawa Area Center, as an active member in her church, as a member of several boards, as an avid sportswoman, as a champion knitter, and as a friend and confidante to many. She lived life fully serving as a bright light in our world. We all strive to follow her legacy. Mary Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Norm; sister-in-law, Dee Ginthner; brothers Roger (Kitty) Johnson and David (Carol) Johnson; son Jon (Marla) Lunderberg; daughters Pat (Dave) Van Wylen and Carol (Bill) Stauffer; and grandchildren Nathan (Hannah), Thomas, Madison, Mark, Eric (Elisira), David, Anna, Jacob, and Max along with many relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Dykstra Funeral Home Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland, MI 49423. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday December 10, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 57 W 10th St, Holland, MI 49423. An additional visitation will be held prior to the memorial service at the church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
