Marvin J. Timmer, 86, of Holland, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Medilodge of Holland.

Marvin was the first born son of John and Ada (Borgman) Timmer of West Olive. He married the love of his life, Lucille Resseguie, and they have been married for over 65 years. Marvin also faithfully served our country in the Army during the Korean War in 1952. He was a charter member of Beechwood Church and member of the Optimist Club. When he had free time, you could find Marvin boating, fishing and attending stock car racing.

He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Timmer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille, son, Duane (Nellie) Timmer; grandchildren, Michael (Kristin) Timmer, Kristen Timmer; great grandchildren, Aaron and Luke Timmer; siblings, Robert (Renee) Timmer, Jean Alversen, and Lloyd (Elaine) Timmer.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 pm Sunday at the Northwood Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Home, 295 Douglas Avenue and also 1 hour prior to the funeral on Monday at 11:00 at Beechwood Church with the Rev. Dr. Dawn Vagle officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society and Hospice of Holland.
