Marta Garcia

Marta Campos Garcia, age 95, of Holland died Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Holland where she had resided for most of her life.

Marta was born in Mexico, grew up in Texas before moving to Holland with her family. Her passion was gardening, but she enjoyed needlework and cooking for those she loved, her family and friends. Marta was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she volunteered many hours of her time. She was preceded in death by her husband Candelario Garcia in 1980 and her siblings Felipe Campos, Cecilio Campos, Teodoro Campos and Jesus Campos.

She is survived by her children: Jesusa (John) Casarez, Felipe (Queta) Garcia, Diana (Al) Esquivel, and Marta (Rick) Muniz; grandchildren: Cynthia (Tim) Marroquin, Felipe Jr. (Ashley) Garcia, Christina (Mike) Heyda, Adrian Esquivel (Ellen Johnson), Casandra (Harrison) Martin, Bettina Muniz (Steve Panya-Oudom); 9 great grandchildren; sister: Antonia Alonzo; brother: Lorenzo Campos; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral mass will be 10:30 am, Monday, January 23, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 171 West 13th Street in Holland. Father Charles Brown will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

A visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Sunday, January 22, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and from 9:30 – 10:30 am on Monday prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Dykstra Funeral Home – Downtown Chapel.
