Mark Alan DeVries, age 68, of Holland, was taken to his Heavenly Home on November 4th, 2021.

Mark grew up on his family farm in Allendale. He married Dawn in 1974 and they settled in Holland. He was the owner of DeVries Electric for 40 years. He gave of his time for many years as a cadet leader and consistory member at Harderwyk Church. In recent years he spent most of his time with family and friends. He loved to hunt and fish and he could often be found fixing something for someone else. He took the opportunity to travel to many areas of the world. He spent countless hours at the lake house surrounded by family. He was always cheering on his grandkids. Words are not enough to capture what a GREAT man he was!

He will be forever missed by his wife of 47 years, Dawn DeVries, by his children and grandchildren: Kelly, James, Simon, Sierra, Alison and Alexander Grooters; Erin, Jon, Vera and a new grandson (arriving in April) Dreyfous and Brett DeVries.

By his brothers and sisters: Clayton (Kathy) DeVries, Ward (Joy) DeVries, Gayle (Devere) Marvin and Kay (Randy) Hoeksema.

And his brothers and sisters-in-law: Cindy (Gerry) Schreur, Tim (Denise) Tamminga, Kris (Greg) Johnston, Dave (Tammi) Tamminga and Phil (Margaret) Tamminga.

Also, many nephews, nieces and friends who became family.

Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday (November 18) at Hardwerwyk Ministries, 1627 West Lakewood Blvd. with Pastor Mary De Witt officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday (November 16) at Harderwyk Ministries.
