Marilyn Oberstadt, 85, of Holland, MI joined her Lord Jesus Christ in her Father’s heavenly home on Saturday, May 12th, 2018, surrounded by loving family, friends, and compassionate caregivers. Marilyn was born in Shiocton, WI on February 14th, 1933 to Harley and Fern Schwandt. Along with her sister, Marilyn was raised on a farm; and attended First Evangelical Lutheran Church. After graduating from Shiocton High School, Marilyn married Allan Oberstadt, living in Biloxi, MS and Milwaukee, WI while her husband served in Korea. Marilyn spent the largest stretch of her career at Oakland University in Rochester, MI. After retiring to Holland in 1995 Marilyn was a tireless volunteer for Good Samaritan Ministries, and an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Holland, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 16th at 11:00 am.

Marilyn is survived by her son James (married to Janine) of Holland, and a grandson Andrew currently living in NYC. She was preceded in death by her husband Allan and her granddaughter Christine. Marilyn was blessed with extended family living in Wisconsin, including her sister Betty Ann (Bill), niece Michelle (Steve), nephew Mike (Dawn), brother-in-law Johnny (Tootsie), nieces Vicki (Brian), Wendy (Pat), and Amy (Dave); nephew Dan (Laurie). Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Zion Lutheran, Good Samaritan Ministries, or Hospice of Holland.
