M. Richard Macosko, 92, of Holland, Michigan passed away peacefully on November 25, 2022, in his home.

Richard was born in Duquesne, Pennsylvania to Michael and Alice Macosko on April 7, 1930. After serving in the Navy, he attended Penn State University and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He worked for U.S. Steel for 32 years and other industries, thereafter. Richard was a member of the American Legion and the Elks. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions fan.

Richard loved traveling with his wife of 44 years, Elisabeth Macosko. They spent time in Hawaii, Alaska, and most of the United States. Their travels included adventures in Germany, Kuwait, Egypt, Austria, Dubai-UAE, Switzerland, Luxembourg, France, and Bavaria. Though watching football and enjoying craft beer was another favorite past time, Rich was also an avid reader of National Geographic and Agatha Christie novels. He enjoyed birdwatching and viewing shows on the Public Broadcasting Station.

Richard is survived by his wife, Elisabeth, and sister Eleanor (Mike) Vasko. He was blessed with 8 children, Debbie (Dale) Anlauf, Gary (Randi) Macosko, Christine (Phillip) Belcher, Teresa (Yaser) Lesher, Tom (Janet) Lesher, Tim (Ree) Lesher, Tamara (Jeff) Jalving, Tony (Nikki) Lesher. Rich was also a proud and active grandfather to 20 grandchildren and manygreat grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
