Lynne Postma

Lynne M Postma, 67, of Fennville, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 following a short battle of Cancer. Lynne was born on February 20, 1949 in Buffalo, New York to Theodore and Mary Bates. The Bates family moved to Michigan and Lynne graduated from Saugatuck High School. She worked in the restaurant and service industry with the majority of her career at the Kalico Kitchen Restaurant in Douglas Michigan. She touched many lives and made tons of friends in her lifetime.

She married her husband Carl Postma in April 1995. They enjoyed attending and singing in various Karaoke events around the Lakeshore. Lynne was an avid Face-booker, giving many friends and family daily support and or encouragement with her kind and gentle heartfelt words. She loved to stay in touch with everyone in her life; no distance could keep her away from calling or writing anyone. Lynne had a wonderful relaxing hobby that she enjoyed very much; her crocheting projects touched many loved ones. Lynne and Carl attended Faith Christian Center. Lynne had a strong Christian belief which helped get her through the past few months leading to her journey of eternal life. She was so grateful for the many prayers and loving thoughts sent to her and her family; she was very comforted and touched by them.

Lynne is survived by her beloved husband Carl Postma and their precious dog Jess. Loving Daughter Wendy Derks of Arkansas, Brother Gary Bates of Fennville and Sister Kathy Bates of Saugatuck/ Douglas as well as many blessings of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm April 20th, 2016 at Dykstra Funeral Home, 520 Lake Street Saugatuck, Mi 49453. Rev. Arlee Horn will officiate. Visitation will be from noon till 1 pm prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland. Condolences may be left on Lynne’s facebook page.
