Louis Thomas "Tom" Ruzicka

Louis Thomas (Tom) Ruzicka born October 1, 1939 in Muskegon, MI to Louis G. Ruzicka and Helen R. (Chuhak) Ruzicka passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Tom graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central in 1958 and holds an Associate Degree in Technology from Muskegon Community College.

Tom was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He enjoyed old cars and backpacking. Tom worked at Brunswick Corporation in Muskegon, MI for 18 years and retired from Haworth after 20 years.

Tom married Mary V. Caputo on December 30, 1961 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Muskegon, MI. They just recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Karen Ruzicka.

Tom is survived by his wife, Mary and children: Sheri (Scott) Hansen, Tom (Maggie) Ruzicka, Diane (Brian) Schwaiger and Steve (Tina) Ruzicka; grandchildren: Alex Hansen, Nick Hansen, Taylor (Bob) Blank, Kelly (John) Wozniak, Colin Ruzicka, SSgt Holli Schwaiger USMC, Nichole (Cody) Dykstra, Megan Ruzicka and Emily Ruzicka; great grandchildren: Johnathan Hansen, Xander Ruzicka and John Rowdy Wozniak; a great grandaughter is due in May.

Private family services are planned. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland.

The family is grateful for the loving care he received at American House.
