Lou Jeanne Teerman, age 85, of Holland passed away with such grace on Wednesday, June 12 at Appledorn Living Center under Hospice Care.

Lou was born in Holland, Michigan to Harvey and Lillian (Maatman) Poll on May 21, 1939. She graduated from Holland High School and lived in Holland her entire life.

She worked for Holland Hospital in the earlier years and retired from the Social Security Administration.

Lou had a wonderful (wicked) sense of humor that always put a smile on our faces. She loved her family, friends and church family, was an avid reader and enjoyed watching sports.

Lou was preceded in death by her husband Lee, daughter Lynelle Vogelzang, parents, brother Robert, sister Beverly Craft, and brother-in-law James.

She is survived by her children Jim (fiancée Angelic Lane) and Jeff (Barb); grandchildren Lyndsey (Brad) Meiste, Alex (Courtney) Vogelzang, Megan (Austin) Zoerhof, Kelsey (Garrett) Dutton, Jordan Teerman (Matt Wierenga), Austin Teerman (fiancée Casey Do), Misty (Eric) King, and Jeff Carlson; great grandchildren Max, Weston, Ayla and Molly Meiste, Nash, Brooks and Ruby Vogelzang, Shae and Omega Zoerhof, Lewis, Garrett Cass and June Dutton, Kenzie King, and Destiny and Bently Carlson; brother Rich (Pam) Poll, sister Jackie Molette, sister-in-law Salome Teerman, sister-in-law Ruth (Don) Klassen, brother-in-law Al (Mary) Teerman and brother-in-law John( Norma) Teerman; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am Monday (June 17) at Trinity Reformed Church, 712 Apple Avenue. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-10:45 am, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Reformed Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Downtown Chapel.
