Lillian Knoll, 85, of Holland, passed away peacefully in her home January 24, 2016. Affectionately called “Nana” by all who knew her, Lillian was born June 21, 1930 in Allegan, Michigan to Samuel Dagen and Marie Brochu Dagen.

Lillian was employed by the City of Holland for over 25 years, retiring as the Deputy City Treasurer. She then began her own business, Lil’s Frills Antiques, buying and selling antiques in her booth at the local antique mall, as well learning to sell online. In her mid-70’s, Lillian was suddenly struck legally blind. She adjusted to her blindness, living independently and continuing her online antique business. She was awarded for her determination and spirit by the Commission for the Blind during a ceremony in Lansing.

Lillian is survived by her Son-In-Law David VanderWilk (Kristi), her grandchildren Wesley VanderWilk (Amy) and Tara Keel (Kevin) and her four beloved great-grandchildren, Kyra Keel, Jacob VanderWilk, Miah Keel and Luke VanderWilk.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Conrad in 2002, daughter Sharon VanderWilk in 2001, sisters Twila Smeenge and Monnie Bloemers Rice.

Funeral services will be held 11am Friday (January 29) in the chapel at Christ Memorial Church, 595 Graafschap Road, in Holland, with Pastor John Kleinheksel officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials contributions may be made to Spectrum Hospice.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel.
