Laura C. Burroughs, age 63, of Norton Shores, passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of the Muskegon area. Laura loved gardening, cooking, bird watching and especially loved the outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a talented seamstress and dressmaker, making wedding dresses for her family and clothes for dolls and barbies. Laura was a member of the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians.

Guiding her into her next journey was her lifelong friend, Steven “Two Dogs” Potter.

Laura was a loving mother to Misti (Junior) Porter and Crystal (Jeff) Thompson, a cherished grandmother & great grandmother to Amanda VanDyke, Nicole VanDyke, Brennan VanDyke, Hunter Plomb, Brock Burroughs, Nella Suttorp, Niah Suttorp, Adalyn VanDyke and Willow Borstler, dear sister to Edward (Charlene) Burch and Francis (Gloria) Burch and a devoted aunt to many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marian; husband, Charles “Chuckles” Burroughs; brothers, Leonard and Clarence Burch; son, Christopher Burroughs; grandson, Kristopher Thompson.

A celebration of life will take place 1:00PM, Saturday April 27th, at Laura’s home, 643 East Sternberg Road, Norton Shores. Dress will be casual and you may B.Y.O.B.
