Larry Dorgelo, age 73, of Holland, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

Larry was born in Holland and graduated from Holland High School in 1963. He had worked at Fort’s Candy, where he was known as the “Candy Man”, and retired from Holland Charter Township. Larry spent many years umpiring softball games and loved to fish in his free time. He was a member of Rose Park Reformed Church, where he was a former Deacon and coffee maker. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded many war medals.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Dorgelo and a brother-in-law, James Kleis.

Larry is survived by his wife, Judie of 50 years; sons, James Dorgelo and Delia Dalman, Joe and Stephanie Dorgelo; 3 grandchildren, Ashley and Michael Kulpinski, Nicholas Dorgelo, and Hannah Dorgelo; 2 great grandchildren, Aubrey and Lucas Kulpinski; 3 step grandchildren, Makayliah Kroll, Kesha Kroll, and Corbin Boone; sisters, Judy and Ken Souter and Marilyn and David Van Wieren; sister-in-law, Sally Kleis; nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday (December 22), at Rose Park Reformed Church, 14241 Rose Park Drive, with Rev. Dave Van Opstall officiating.

Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-8 pm, tonight (December 21), at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue.
