Katherine Paige Rutgers, age 25 of Holland, left this earth to be with Jesus December 26, 2021.

Katherine was born in Holland, MI, where she graduated from Hamilton High School. She most recently worked as a team member at Magna International.

Katherine lived her life with kindness and would willingly give to anyone in need. Such a beautiful and gentle heart she had. Her smile and laugh was one we will cherish dearly. She raised her two little girls with much patience and grace. They were her whole world and she was the best mama to them. She loved them well. She enjoyed cooking with Aria, would embark on outdoor adventures with them, enjoyed spending time with family, and took part in many church activities. Despite many adversities, she always persevered and pushed through.

Katherine was preceded in death by her son, James Jay “JJ” Alexander Rutgers-what a beautiful reunion that would have been to see.

She is survived by her daughters; Aria, Audrey; parents, Brian Van Houten, Michelle (Nick) Beyer; siblings, Ashley (Anthony) Roberts, Kalina Van Houten, Shane (Carrie) Van Houten; nieces & nephews; Alexander Roberts, Adaline Roberts, Paisley McQueen; grandparents, David & Marla Ritsema, Karen Van Houten along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, December 30 at Central Wesleyan Church – Chapel from 6-8pm. Funeral service will take place on Friday, December 31 at 11:00am at Central Wesleyan Church – Chapel with Rev. Lynn Bruce officiating. Please use entrance F and D.

In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting Katherine’s daughters through their gofundme.
