Joyce Sneller

Joyce Sneller, age 89 of Holland, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 4, 2018.

Born to Lester & Agnes Gunneman, Joyce was a lifetime member of Overisel Reformed Church and was a graduate of Holland High School. She met Nelson Sneller at a Russ’ drive-in and they married in 1955. Joyce was involved in many organizations including Girls League, Christian Endeavor and an active member of Evergreen Commons. Joyce was a bookkeeper at Overisel Feed and Lumber Co along with the family business Sneller Plumbing. She enjoyed raising her children, traveling, camping and was an avid bird watcher. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who never missed a family sporting event.

She was preceded in death by an infant son Brian in 1960; sister, Clarine Barkel; brothers, Kenneth Gunneman, and Roger Gunneman.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Nelson; son, Reed (Cindy) Sneller; daughter, Vicki (Eddy) Swamy; daughter, Kim (Phil) Nykamp; son, Todd (Gina) Sneller; grandchildren, Troy Sneller, Jon Nykamp, Jared Nykamp; sister-in-laws, Alma Gunneman, Carol Gunneman; brother-in-law, Vern (Joyce) Barkel, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation for Joyce will be on Friday, April 6 from 6pm to 8pm at Overisel Reformed Church. A funeral service will take place Saturday, April 7 at 11:00am also at Overisel Reformed Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or the Helen Devos Childrens Hospital.
