Josefina Saldivar

Josefina Saldivar, age 86, of Holland, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

Josefina (Josie) was born on 06/20/37 in Laredo TX. Josie was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend to many. Born in Laredo TX to Santos and Angela (Palacios) Lopez and moved to the Holland area in 1950 where she met the love of her life, Oscar Y. Saldivar. She was formerly employed by Heinz and moved on to provide daycare inside her home for several years. Josie was a long-time member of St. Francis de Sales church. She loved Norteño/Tejano music and dancing with her husband Oscar. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed time spent with loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husband – Oscar Y. Saldivar in 2013, Son – Oscar Jr. Saldivar in 1987, son – Ramiro Saldivar 2022; 3 brothers – Lino Lopez, Jesus Guadalupe, and Fermin Lopez; 1 sister – Adela Pena.

Josie is survived by her Son – Luis (Kristi) Saldivar; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister – Maria Carmen Tapia; many nieces & nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Friday (March 29) at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 171 West 13th Street. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery on Monday, April 1 at 2 pm.
