John W. Keuning

John W. Keuning age 75, of Holland, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family.

John was born to Bert and Nellie (Hubers) Keuning and raised in New Holland, SD and graduated from Dakota Christian High. Following college, he taught elementary education in New Holland, SD and later, South Olive Christian School. John also worked at Westdale Realty, Michigan Farmer, RE Barber, and at Windmill Island. He was devoted to his family, enjoyed traveling and camping as a family, his love for gardening, and volunteering for the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department (Senior Volunteer), brought him great joy. John was also a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church.

John was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Gene Keuning.

Surviving is his wife, Carolyn of 51 years; Cal and Jenny Keuning (Sarah, Hannah, Matthew, and Jonny), Brian and Tena Keuning (Olivia, Miles, and Paxton), and Daniel and Lora Keuning (Benjamin, Leah, and Rebekah); brother, Al and Marta Keuning; sister, Neva and Dale Mokma; in-laws, Jim and Linda Schippers, Bob and Sheila Schippers, Bill and Deb Schippers, and Richard and Eunice Schippers.

Memorial services will be 1 pm Saturday (February 17), at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 11 East 32nd Street, with Rev. Dan Walcott officiating.

A memorial visitation will be 5:30-8pm Thursday (February 15) at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dakota Christian School in South Dakota.
