John “Jack” Colfax Lamb, age 89 of Holland Michigan, passed away on June 10, 2021. He was happily married to Lois Lamb for 45 years. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved golfing and fishing. Jack was a National Champion pole vaulter in the Senior Olympics. His competitive spirit and giving nature benefited the students that he trained with, and his drive to give back and support others carried over to many other projects and organizations throughout our community.

Jack graduated from Holland High School in 1950. He attended Hope College and Western Michigan University. He served in the Korean War as a surveyor in the army. Jack spent many years working for and eventually leading L.W. Lamb Construction, which was responsible for miles of Lake Michigan shoreline protection and many of the bridges in Michigan. He was a good friend to many and well known for good natured pranks.

Jack is survived by his wife, Lois Lamb, his children, John (Kris) Lamb, Bob (Stacey) Lamb, Tom Lamb, Mike (Barb) Ellis and Kathy (Bryan Jones) Frieling, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Dykstra Funeral Home on 32nd Street on June 14, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Christ Memorial Church on Tuesday June 15, 2021 at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions can be made to the Boys and Girls Club-Holland, Camp Geneva or Hope College.
