John “Jack” Gogolin, age 88, of Holland, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018. Jack was born in Syracuse, New York on August 9th, 1929. He graduated from the University of Detroit High School and attended Michigan State University. Mr. Gogolin served his country in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. After serving in the Korean conflict Jack married the love of his life Pat Gilcrest and they were married for 64 years. Jack loved to follow Michigan State Athletics, taking Sunday afternoon drives and fishing trips to Canada. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and he supported the Red Cross.

He was proceeded in death by his twin sister, Joann; brothers, Bob and Al. Mr. Gogolin is survived by his loving wife, Pat; children, Julie (Tim) Harrington, Katie (ken) Roth, Gray (Jodi) Gogolin, Patty (David) Cyrus, Carrie Hungerink, Curt (Deanna) Gogolin, Jennifer Zrubek; grandchildren, Nicole, Zack, Emily, Tim, Robby, Ben, Abby, Jackson, Caden Henri, Halle; 4 great-grandchildren; Nephew, John Michael Van Slambrouke.

A funeral mass will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 171 West 13th St, Holland. Father Charlie Brown will celebrate the mass. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral mass. A luncheon will take place following the funeral.
