John Calvin Grit

John Calvin Grit, 56, of Holland, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at Holland Hospital. He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Margaret, and his father, Henry. He was a veteran of the Army where he served in Vietnam. He was a member of the D.A.V. He is survived by his mother Mrs. Henry (Marie) Grit of Holland; sister Alma and Paul Summers of Zeeland; a niece, nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St., Zeeland, with the Rev. Verne Summers officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the D.A.V.
