Joan Lindstrom

Joan Anne Lindstrom, age 88 of Fennville, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo surrounded by her loved ones.

Joan was born in Berwyn, IL to Walter and Marie (Neydlik) Baltis on February 19, 1933. Growing up, Joan loved to have fun! Going to the beach, cheerleading, roller skating, being with friends, always laughing! During and after raising her five children, Joan worked as an insurance specialist, then became a real estate broker in later years. Joan’s family and friends were what was most important to her. She went out of her way to help and take care of others if they were in need. If family and friends were her first love, her beloved pets were second. No animal was ever hungry with Joan around – her meal always became “their meal”!

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Lindstrom in 2006, and her sister, Phyllis Paul in 2008.

Joan is survived by her children, Denise (Kim) Rowekamp of Mattawan, Fred (Jackie) Lindstrom of Boise, Idaho, Walter Lindstrom of Saugatuck, Lisa Battjes of Allendale; grandchildren, Brigitte (Steve) Rowekamp-Ambs, Ryan (Jessica) Rowekamp, Stephanie (Jordan) Shaffer, Michael (Estefania) Battjes, Teresa Lindstrom-Principe; great-grandchildren, Ezra, Benjamin, Harper Noel, Leila, and Thomas; sisters, Bonnie (Robert) Hutchison of Downers Grove, IL and Rita Sheese of Cozumel, MX; also many beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation and service have taken place and burial was at Douglas Cemetery. The family would like to thank Mark and Teddi Bild, for providing a wonderful meal at their home following the service.
