Life Story / Obituary
Jeanne Capizzi, age 93 of Holland, passed away March 1, 2017 at Resthaven Care Center.
Jeanne loved something new, it suited her perfectly to marry her army sweetheart, Joe. First with the army, and then for the adventure, together they traveled from place to place, never staying in one spot for very long. Jeanne was born in Medford, Wisconsin and lived in various places across the country, from California to Virginia, from Michigan to Florida. Even when they finally decided to stay in Florida, they moved from town to town, something new always on the horizon. Joe died in 2003, leaving Jeanne to carry on without him, moving to various places in central Florida, then for this past 15 months, back to Michigan.
Jeanne has much of her family in Florida, including a daughter, two grandsons, and their families. Anthony and Becky Adesso (Kaitlyn, A.J., and Ashley) and Ronald and Heather Adesso (Joel, Alexandra, and Eleanor) live in central Florida. A son, Michael (and Paula) Capizzi live in west Michigan, as do their sons and families, Jon and Beth Capizzi (Ethan, Lauren, and Samuel) and Mitchel Capizzi.
Jeanne always loved celebrations and parties, complete with a feast and fancy decorations. Any holiday, any excuse, was a good one and in her last days, the parties became much more simple, but still a highlight of her days. When the baked ham, linen cloths, and china became cupcakes, balloons, and paper plates, she still looked forward to each and every party, always ready for the next reason to celebrate. We think of her with both smiles and tears as she celebrates her final great party in heaven.
A private service will take place at a later date in Florida.
