Harvey Geerlings

Harvey Geerlings, 78, of Zeeland, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007. He was a farmer and he also worked for Herman Miller. He was a lifelong member of First Christian Reformed Church where he served as an elder and deacon. He served as a board member of Zeeland Christian School, and a board member of the Zeeland Farmers Co-op. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Angeline; children Mark and Maureen Geerlings of Byron Center, Brian and Marlys Geerlings of Zeeland, Ron and Sue Geerlings of Kentwood, Jon and Janet Geerlings of Chattanooga, Ed and Lynn Geerlings of Zeeland and Jane and George Vander Beek of Zeeland; 21 grandchildren; brothers and sisters Ruth and Gene Michielsen of Holland, Arloa and Ken Koning of Holland, Rose and George Bouma of Holland, Robert and Linda Geerlings of Holland, Ethel and Clarence Steenwyk of Hudsonville, Carolyn and Herb Otten of Zeeland, Paul and Jan Geerlings of Holland, Evelyn and Ron Brouwer of Zeeland and Dave and Linda Geerlings of Holland; in-laws Dale and Ruth Engelsman of Zeeland, Don and Betty Wierda of Zeeland, Ted and Gladys Wierda of Holland, Hazel and Tony Kiekintveld of Holland, Warren and Norma Wierda of Zeeland, Ken and Marcia Wierda of Hudsonville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Christian Reformed Church, 15 S. Church St., Zeeland, with the Rev. Bernard Mulder officiating. Visiting is 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St., Zeeland. Burial will be in Zeeland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Zeeland Christian Schools and Christian Reformed World Missions.
