Harry William Knipe age 73 of Holland died Tuesday December 27, 2016 at his home following an extended illness.
Born in Grand Rapids, MI. Harry moved to Holland as a child and graduated from West Ottawa High School class of 1962. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict and for 41 years he was employed at Holland Hitch now SAF Holland retiring in 2010.
He was a member of the Holland VFW and was preceded in death by a son James Jakubczak in 2007.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Jackson Knipe and daughter Susan (Joe) Flynn of Holland, step-sons, Richard (Vyckie) Jakubczak of Farmington, MN. ,Steven Jakubczak of Holland, 6 grandchildren; Trenton, Karina, Arianna, River, Tyler, Alena, brother and sister in laws; Junko Knipe of Captain Cook, Hawaii, Laura (George) Keeler of Lowell, MI, and James Jackson of Caledonia, MI.
A memorial service will be held Friday 11:00AM at Northwood Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 295 Douglas Ave.,with Pastor Kate Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Friends may call on the family Friday 10:00AM -11:00AM prior to the service at the chapel.
