Goldie Sternberg, age 94 of Overisel, went to her Heavenly home, Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

Goldie was born to James and Sadie (Hoekje) Lubbers on March 26, 1927. She graduated form Western and taught in a two-room school for several years. Goldie was a lifelong member of Overisel Reformed Church. She was involved and served in missions, education, quilting, the historical committee, and had a servant’s heart.

Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, of 65 years, in 2013, son, David Sternberg in 2021, grandson, Gregory Slagh in 1990, and a special friend, Gord Nagelkirk 2020.

Surviving are her children, Larry (Bette) Sternberg, Pat (Mark) Reuschel, and Jane (Dan) Slagh; daughter-in-law, Lou Sternberg; 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lloyd Lubbers and Stan (Barb) Lubbers; in-laws, Winona Rietman and Judy (Tom) Reagan; nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services are 11 am Saturday (January 29) at Overisel Reformed Church, 4706 142nd Street. Burial will be in Overisel Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday (January 28) at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Words of Hope or Hospice of Holland. The family would like to thank Royal Park for their care and compassion.
