Gertrude Nagelkerk, age 96, of Holland, was ready to enter Heaven into the arms of her Savior, on Saturday, December 31, 2016. Gertrude was born February 8, 1920 and graduated from Holland High School in 1938. Gertrude married Nelson Nagelkerk on October 3, 1940. They were married for 61 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson in 2002. Surviving are her children; Jack and Mick Nagelkerk of West Olive, Joan and Howard Geerlings of Traverse City, Nancy and Al Walters of Holland, and Tom and Sue Nagelkerk of Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; and nephews, nieces, and cousins. Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday (January 5), at Intersection Ministries (formerly Grace Reformed Church), 945 136th Avenue, with Rev. Jeff Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-10:45 am Thursday (January 5) prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland.
Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel.
